Summer Tour in Revew
I spent a fantastic summer teaching and performing in some of the most beautiful places in the United States. I even had time to visit family and friends. I love being a harpist! My tour began at a cabin in central Oregon, teaching at Laura Zaerr’s Lapine Harp Retreat. Then I gave a couple of workshops and a performance in New Mexico sponsored by the Canterbury Harp Circle.
My next stop was the Rocky Mountains of Montana for the Big Sky Harp Festival-----what a great festival. Mark your calendars for the next festival in 2009. I somehow squeezed in workshops and a concert at the Up North Summerfest harp festival in northern Wisconsin before heading off to lead a retreat for Sacred and Healing music with Ron Price at St. Bede’s Abbey in Peru, Illinois.
Spending a weekend at a monastery with like-minded musicians was perhaps the highlight of my summer. I just celebrated the Jewish New Year with my family, together friends who live in a lovely coastal village near Haifa, and we lit candles I brought back from the monastery.
My duo, Tzalool, with Gal Shahar on fiddle has been invited to present a workshop and performance at the 2008 Edinburgh Harp Festival. I will also be teaching classes throughout the event. We are also setting up other perfomance opportunities in Scotland and England and hope to have a wonderful Spring tour.
I'll also be back in the USA and Canada for most of next Summer, with performances by Tzalool, and harp workshops and concerts at a variety of events.
