Here in Israel we are enjoying unseasonal warm weather and relative quiet between israelis and Palestinians. Our annual 'Burns Supper' has recently passed when we hosted over 50 people at our home for the celebration of the Scottish bard Robert Burns, complete with bagpipers and haggis. My husband Fred is from Edinburgh and dresses the part once a year with his kilt.

Harp Technician Visits Israel

Liza Jensen's recent visit to Israel from New York was a great success. She managed to service 24 lever and pedal harps in about ten days. The trip was originally planned for a week but since the demand for her services exceeded expectations she stayed an extra week.

In addition to regulating and repairing harps Liza gave two workshops on harp maintenance in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Sunita and her student Tirtza helped arrange the trip, and hosted Liza at their homes. They also squeezed in a tour to the Dead Sea and the Galilee. All in all a successful trip which will hopefully become an annual event.

When she's not globetrotting to Israel, Liza services harps in NYC, New Jersey, and Connecticut. She can be contacted at lizacjensen@hotmail.com
