Over ten years ago, my husband bought me a small harp, which was my introduction to the folk harp. As the years went by, the need to meet and play with other people compelled me to make contact with other harpists. At this point, I contacted Sunita Staneslow (a well-known harpist in Israel). Meeting her gave birth to the idea of the Jerusalem Harp Circle, where people sharing an intense love for the harp would meet once a month. From this came the need to take harp-playing beyond entertainment, and the need to connect to people in a deeper, more personal way. A handful of us began to explore the use of harp music in the hospital.
Today, it’s undoubtedly a way of expressing my deep love of harp music, connecting to people, and making a difference in people’s lives.
